Why Have Your Kitchen Hood Inspected?
Exhaust systems such as kitchen hoods should be inspected often, and this should be according to the intervals that are consistent with usage of the hood. This should be able to determine whether or not the good needs to be cleaned, and can determine this before enough grease accumulates to become a fire hazard. We urge our customers to have their hoods inspected regularly and to use this great service!
How Do We Do It?
Our service is valuable and efficient. We first scrape the exhaust system clean, then wash with food-safe caustic chemicals. This gets rid of accumulated grease. Pressure washing is then performed by our experienced technicians to safely collect the grease and water that becomes dissolved in the process. Safety is our priority when being on the job, so our technicians perform this process with extreme care!
We apply caustic chemicals that are used to break down the grease, and use extreme safety when applying these. Hot water is then used to rinse away any residue. In order to apply the chemicals, they are applied gently and are allowed to dwell on the surface before being washed off. This is the most efficient way to perform this process.
In more extreme situations, where the hood has not been cleaned regularly, scrapers are used to remove the excess build up before anything else is applied. We will also use machines that are for pressure washing the surface on the chemical application is complete. The grease will be removed rather than just running off and clogging up local drains.
Guidelines We Follow
Commercial exhaust kitchen system cleaning guidelines are outlined in the National Fire Protection Association or NFPA. The frequency of cleaning can depend on many things, but mainly, the various types of food that’s being cooked. We find it efficient to inform our customers of things like this on the job so that they are able to properly take care of their kitchen and use our services regularly. The cleaning frequency can also depend on other things. This includes the volume of grease laden vapors that are drawn up through the good plenum. More use requires more frequent cleaning.
Finally, we will polish the hood for easier cleaning thereafter and for appearance. We want you to be able to see and feel the difference! We will apply a certificate sticker on the hood to make sure that you know that we cleaned it, and for any insurance or health inspectors that may pass through. It is a seal of an official cleaning and maintenance that was performed.
